With a distinguished career in high-level interpreting and language education, Melisa Roman stands out as one of the leading educators at Language Atelier.
A graduate of Lycée Français Charles de Gaulle, Melisa earned her Translation and Interpretation degree from Bilkent University and completed her Master’s in European Union Policy at Université Libre de Bruxelles.
Fluent in Turkish, French, and English, she has accompanied Heads of State, Presidents, First Ladies, Prime Ministers, Ministers, and CEOs during official visits, providing expert simultaneous and consecutive interpretation at the highest level of international diplomacy.
Her experience includes collaborations with major global organizations such as the United Nations, OECD, World Bank, and the European Union, where she has played a critical role in bilateral meetings, global summits, and diplomatic negotiations.
Beyond diplomacy, she has delivered interpretation services in law, defense, finance, healthcare, energy, and international trade, showcasing her exceptional expertise in bridging languages and cultures.
Since 2019, she has also been teaching English at Lycée Français Charles de Gaulle, training the next generation of multilingual professionals.
Sema Roman
French Art Educator & Cultural Development Mentor
Sema Roman is a French-Turkish citizen who has been educated and shaped by the French academic tradition, dedicating her life to art and education.
She is an alumna of Université Louis Pasteur in Strasbourg, Lycée Privé Notre-Dame, Lycée Marie Curie, and Lycée Français Charles de Gaulle in Ankara, carrying within her the depth of French artistic and cultural heritage.
For over 20 years, she has been a leading figure in arts and culture education at Ankara Charles de Gaulle French High School, inspiring students through a curriculum rooted in French artistic principles.
Her outstanding contributions to education have been recognized with L’Ordre des Palmes Académiques, a national distinction awarded by the French Republic for excellence in academics, arts, and culture.
Fluent in French, Turkish, and English, Sema bridges cultures through art, blending French artistic philosophy with contemporary techniques.
Beyond teaching, she is an accomplished artist specializing in ceramics, jewelry design, and painting, with both solo and group exhibitions across Turkey and Europe.
At Language Atelier, she continues to share her French-inspired artistic vision, leading arts and culture programs that combine creativity, cultural heritage, and technical mastery.
Iris Ceylan Roman
Advanced French and English Instructor
Iris Ceylan Roman, a graduate of Lycée Français Charles de Gaulle, was awarded the prestigious Bourse Lauréat by the French Ministry of Education for her academic excellence. She later earned a Bachelor’s degree in Communication and Design from Bilkent University, gaining a strong foundation in international communication and business strategies.
Fluent in Turkish, French, and English, with working proficiency in Spanish, she has extensive experience in international sales, marketing, and business development across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. She has collaborated with global companies in technology, education, and healthcare, leveraging her multilingual skills to bridge cultures and markets.
Her expertise in corporate training, business communication, and strategic development makes her a key figure at Language Atelier, where she actively leads language courses for professionals, teens, and adults, offering a dynamic and practical learning experience.
Vera Oliveira Erdinç
Advanced Portuguese Instructor
Vera Oliveira Erdinç was born in São Paulo, Brazil. From a young age, she developed a strong interest in languages; at just 12 years old, she won an award in a state-wide Portuguese Composition Contest.
A graduate of Dante Alighieri Italian High School, Vera Oliveira Erdinç earned a degree in Economics from Mackenzie University. She also completed the “Langue et Littérature Française” diploma, awarded by Nancy University through the Alliance Française.
After getting married, she settled in Turkey and learned Turkish at the Ankara French Institute. She has been teaching Portuguese and French for many years, using the Camões Institute method in her lessons.
Music has always played an important role in Vera Oliveira Erdinç’s life. She began piano lessons at the age of five, completed her studies at the São Paulo Conservatory, and furthered her education at various music schools in Paris. In Turkey, she worked for 35 years as a professional pianist with the Ankara and Istanbul State Operas, and taught music for 18 years at the Charles de Gaulle French High School. She is married to orchestra conductor Erol Erdinç.
Vera Oliveira Erdinç is an experienced and versatile educator, especially skilled in teaching Portuguese at a native level.
Ebru DEMİRALP BEKİR
Advanced French Instructor
Ebru Demiralp Bekir, a distinguished lawyer and language educator shaped by the French academic tradition, is one of the prominent instructors at Language Atelier.
After graduating from Lycée Français Charles de Gaulle, she pursued legal studies at the University of Strasbourg and the University of Lyon, specializing in international law and human rights. She has spent much of her life in Francophone countries such as France, Switzerland, and Belgium, completing her entire education within the French academic system.
Her native-level French is certified with the DELF C2 diploma (100/100). Throughout her career as a lawyer, she has gained extensive experience in the field of human rights through applications before the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) and the Turkish Constitutional Court. She now brings this wealth of expertise into her language teaching, aiming to provide her students not only with a foreign language, but also with a way of thinking and a cultural perspective.
Her strong attachment to French culture is evident in both her academic and professional background; in her classes, she seamlessly combines language, culture, and universal values.
